On March 24, 25 and 26, 2023, as for the past 7 years, Eurogroup Consulting took part in the Hacking Health Camp - THE meeting place for innovation in healthcare. 50 hours during which entrepreneurs, developers, engineers, doctors, caregivers and patients meet to inventing tomorrow's healthcare.
Several consultants from Health team from the firm came to Strasbourg to support and coach project teams in turning an innovative idea into a first working prototype. A closer look at what Hacking Health Camp 2023 has taught us:
INNOVATIVE IDEATION FOR 50 INTENSE HOURS
Building the first prototypes in 50 hours is no mean feat! And yet, each team succeeded in presenting concrete elements at the end of the weekend, thanks to a three-point philosophy:
- A reflection that must find its basis in the problem: before finding the solution, you have to understand the problem the user is facing! The teams had to build the and understand the real irritantss, and for that ... sometimes even better identify the end user from the intermediate user.
- It's a concept that must give pride of place to collective intelligence: the complexity of the healthcare sector calls for a global approach and the mobilization of a wide range of skills in project design; ; Business skills (in-depth knowledge of requirements, etc.), Technical skills (mastery of tools and technologies, knowledge of barriers such as the absolute need for interoperability), business competence (financing methods, size of sector, etc.).
- An agile mind project leaders must demonstrate a high level of commitment great adaptability because ambition sometimes clashes with technical requirements, which in turn clash with the business model. Our watchword is «to pivot is not to give up, but to solve».
INNOVATIVE PROJECTS TO ADDRESS TOPICAL ISSUES
During this innovation marathon, participants highlighted solutions that address real pain points, centered on patients and professionals health. In all, these are more than 20 projects which were built with a large number of working prototypes!
Focus on key projects:
Innovative management techniques
The development of care techniques requires a better understanding of pathologies and exposomes, as well as more effective new tools. Digital technology enables precision medicine improving diagnostics.
- Surgmetrics aims to improve the accuracy of diagnoses thanks to a endoscopic medical measuring device.
Lack of care coordination
Care paths often involve several players, requiring different types of care. Digital technology now makes it possible to develop new solutions to facilitate coordination and secure care.
- Salvia is a application who intends facilitate medication reconciliation for general practitioners and pharmacists
The administrative burden for healthcare professionals
Representative to 30% of their working time, administrative tasks are playing an increasingly important role in the daily lives of healthcare professionals. Digital technology makes it possible to alleviate, or at least reduce the time spent on certain administrative tasks.
- DeepDocs improves the efficiency of medical data processing and the quality of healthcare by reducing the time and effort needed to manually process this data.
The need for more prevention
At the heart of public policy, prevention is a major preoccupation for healthcare players, and a real opportunity for innovative healthcare projects. Digital is a real vector for better reaching certain target populations.
- Heegee focuses on the prevention of risks associated with inactivity in younger age groups, and proposes a tool to support the whole family through sports and leisure programs.
Improving inclusion of certain patients/disabled people
Inclusion and destigmatization also involve increasingly personalized and innovative care paths and approaches. Digital technology can sometimes break down barriers and improve the inclusion of certain groups.
- Simplisignes allows sign language to be translated into French thanks to the video recognition, a previously non-existent solution
