Baromètre des décideurs de l'assurance " Spécial Reprise " - N°1 June 2020

Eurogroup Consulting has published a "Special Takeover" edition of the Barometer of Insurance Decision-Makers, in partnership with the startup Bloomin, which specializes in measuring employee experience and improving performance. Around a hundred executives responded to this rather special edition of the Barometer, with a fairly balanced distribution between the families of players surveyed.

Find out more about the main findings of the Barometer and download the document to discover the survey's three focus areas: «Teleworking», «Remobilization» and «Transformation».

Relatively easy containment

Overall, and not surprisingly, your move to confinement and telecommuting went rather well, despite some friction and difficulties (feelings of isolation, impact on sales teams). The sector was fairly well equipped and prepared for remote working.

A challenge: remobilizing teams for a return to site

You consider deconfinement to be more complex than confinement. The main difficulty you are encountering today is remobilizing teams to return, between fear and a feeling of incomprehension and sometimes inconsistency in the discourse on this subject. While team productivity levels were maintained during the confinement - sometimes even boosted by the mobilization of teams at certain moments in the middle of the confinement - a form of wear and tear on remote teams also set in: the need for social reactivation seems necessary to return to a normal level of performance. On the whole, the players want to rely on the managers to remobilize the teams: we're going to have to listen to them. The majority of respondents have set up a system for taking the pulse of teams during or immediately after confinement, but only 50% plan to continue using it.

The search for a new balance between on-site and remote working, a challenge of transformation

We need to find the right balance between on-site and remote working, to meet the strong demand for employee development and the uncertainties surrounding the health situation.

This transformation will need to be supported, particularly by the managers who are at the heart of it. Building this new normal must be done in an integrated way. If more and more employees are to work remotely, the ways in which we produce, communicate and supervise will have to evolve together.

In this necessary acceleration of the digitization of processes, all of them will have to be reviewed to increase their efficiency and ensure their compatibility with the acceleration/extension of teleworking.

Sales forces spearhead recovery

You have told us that your priority for the future is to revitalize your sales forces. This is all the more crucial as most of you are struggling to get back on track.

These sales forces will need to be trained and supported in the transformation of their profession, in particular in sales and sales promotion, partly at a distance, or at least combined with multi-channel sales.

This support and dynamism are all the more essential in an increasingly competitive environment.

53%

of you have not yet returned to a normal level of activity

Stay tuned: best practices to maintain

80%

of you have set up a pulse-taking device during confinement

You have put in place good listening practices in the field, as well as support systems during the crisis. You'll probably need to maintain and even reinforce them in the coming months. The «pulse check» will help you to build and manage the support systems you need to put in place, for your managers, especially sales managers, and for your business as a whole.

50%

of you have set up support cells, training modules and sharing workshops
