We drew a parallel between the work of a consultant and the figure of an artist, to form the idea of Artists’ Residencies, based around the concepts of intervention, exchange and creation
The multi-year hosting programme was launched as a forum for creativity and a way of exploring the activity of consultants and their practices, and broadening their perspectives. The aim was to improve the mutual awareness of the artistic and corporate worlds.
It was an innately ephemeral experiment. Thought-provoking and inspirational, the exchange achieved its aim: to provide an opportunity for us to question our practices as well as our visionary and innovative profession.
Four artists, four experiments
Beginning with Igor Antic (January-June 2008), Eurogroup Consulting’s artists’ residencies continued with Renaud Auguste-Dormeuil (October 2008-January 2009), Barbara Noiret (April-October 2009) and Le Collectif 1.0.3 (February-July 2010).
Each of these residencies produced an exhibition – Cabinet de Consultations for Igor Antic, Black Out for Renaud Auguste-Dormeuil, REX (Retour d’EXpérience or Feedback) for Barbara Noiret and Specimen for Le Collectif 1.0.3 – and the publication of a catalogue providing information on each artist’s immersion and project.
Eurogroup Consulting was also one of the sites of the FIAC (International Contemporary Art Fair) in 2009, with Barbara Noiret’s closing exhibition.
A general program of art awareness
To accompany Eurogroup Consulting’s Artists’ Residencies and enable our staff to familiarise itself with contemporary art, Eurogroup Consulting opened a library devoted to today’s art and organized regular discovery visits and seminars open to all our colleagues.
